Akash, Make sure that you are using "-X" or "-Y", (During HPC login in terminal)

SSH -X your_userid Or SSH -Y your_userid

Second thing, Sometimes ferret requires X-Windows (X11) support for displaying plots. I'm not sure about Linux; let's Install XQuartz and just play.
