Hi Ryo, Well this is because long ago there were some tools that let us write a file type "hdf movie". ../../documentation/users-guide/animations-gif-images/OVERVIEW The default for the FRAME command when issued with no argument was the HDF format. However the library that gave us this capability hasn't been available in quite a while, and so for recent versions of Ferret we've just written this message on a FRAME with no argument. You're probably right to suggest that that it would be better to do something different; perhaps issue a note on the first instance and do nothing.
