[ferret_users] ferret_users: How to capture long output of show?

Hi all,
is there a simple way to capture long output of ferret commands? For example

yes? show func/external

gives a very long list, which cannot be scrolled back by all terminals. 
Starting the scripter
before ferret is started helps, but I would like to know, if there is a 
better way to see all output.
